Nike says it will sell ‘sport’ shoes to Australians in 2018

Updated January 20, 2018 11:19:27A new sneaker line from Nike, called Sportswear by Sport, will hit Australian shores this year.
The shoe line, which launched in the US earlier this year, features a range of shoes including the Kobe 7s and Kobe 7 Elite sneakers.
The line will be available to Australian retailers in late 2018.
Nike will offer a range for $300.
In a statement, Nike Australia CEO Paul Gossard said the new shoe line would be available in Australian retailers from late 2018 and was aimed at Australian customers looking to buy a pair of Nike Sportswears.
“We are committed to helping our Australian customers find their dream shoe, and have teamed up with Nike to bring a range to our shores that will help them get that dream shoe,” Mr Gossards said.
“This line will help us connect with our Australian customer base and create an online platform for our shoes, and we look forward to bringing this brand to Australian shoppers in the coming months.”
The shoes are based on the same Kobe 7 and Kobe Elite sneaker models used by the Australian Olympic team.
They feature a leather upper with leather heel panels and a water resistant outsole.

Nike is the second biggest shoe company in the world and has long been a major sponsor of the Australian team, which competes in the Rio Olympics.
